The Maurerberg is a widely visible elevation in northeastern Liechtenstein, considered the local mountain of the municipality of Mauren. With an altitude of around 560 meters above sea level, it forms the northeastern spur of the Eschnerberg and is geologically characterized by massive limestone. The area is predominantly forested and serves as one of the most important forestry sites as well as a significant local recreation area for the region. Historically, the mountain is of great importance, as archaeological finds prove settlement remains from the Bronze Age, indicating early settlement of the strategically favorable plateau. Numerous well-marked hiking trails and mountain bike trails lead through the area, offering spectacular views of the Rhine Valley and neighboring Austria. The preservation of biological diversity is ensured by integrating the mountain into a cross-border biotope network system.
