The Parish Church of St. Fridolin in Ruggell is a prominent religious landmark in Liechtenstein's northernmost municipality. The current church was built between 1899 and 1902 in the Neo-Romanesque style according to the plans of the renowned Viennese architect Gustav von Neumann. It replaced a smaller 17th-century predecessor that no longer met the growing needs of the parish. A defining feature of the building is the use of light-colored sandstone for decorative elements and its distinctive tower, which dominates the village skyline. Inside, the church impresses with its clear structural organization and harmonious frescoes, which were carefully restored during subsequent renovations. St. Fridolin is regarded as one of the most significant historicist sacred buildings in the region and reflects Liechtenstein's economic upswing around the turn of the century. To this day, the church serves as the spiritual heart for the residents of Ruggell and hosts numerous local traditions and celebrations.
