One Guyana FPSO (Guyana)

Weather…

The One Guyana is the fourth and currently largest Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel destined for the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana. It is specifically assigned to the Yellowtail development project and is scheduled to commence operations in 2025. With an impressive production capacity of 250,000 barrels of oil per day, it will be the most powerful vessel in Guyana's offshore fleet. Built using the successful 'Fast4Ward' standardized design, One Guyana features a storage capacity of two million barrels of crude oil. The vessel is engineered to efficiently extract the vast resources of the Yellowtail field while adhering to the most advanced environmental standards. Its construction incorporates state-of-the-art technologies for emission reduction and optimized natural gas management. The name of the vessel symbolizes Guyana's national unity during an era of unprecedented economic transformation. Its commissioning will firmly establish Guyana among the world's most significant oil producers on a per capita basis, securing long-term energy security and massive export earnings.

📋 Practical info

🏭
What is this place?
The One Guyana FPSO is the fourth and largest planned FPSO vessel (floating production, storage, and offloading unit) for Guyana's offshore oil fields. It plays a central role in developing Guyana's vast offshore oil reserves and boosting national oil production.
🚪
Visiting
The FPSO is a floating industrial area on the high seas and therefore not accessible to the public. From the coast, it can be seen as a tiny dot on the horizon when in position, under good visibility.
👀
Where to view it
The best viewpoint is the beach in Georgetown or the waterfront promenade, from where offshore installations are visible in clear weather. Binoculars are recommended to spot the vessels and activity in the distance.
🧺
Local products
The FPSO produces crude oil, which is exported by tanker. Direct local products are not available, but in Guyana there is increasing emphasis on local content and services in the oil industry.
📆
Active season
Production on the FPSO runs continuously once operational, without seasonal breaks. Activity is highest during the startup phase when new drilling and testing are carried out.
➕
Nearby
Combine a coastal observation with a visit to the capital Georgetown, including St. George's Cathedral and the Botanical Garden. A boat trip along the Demerara estuary also gives interesting perspectives on the offshore industry.
