Liza Unity FPSO (Guyana)

Weather…

The Liza Unity is the second major Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel in the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana, commencing operations in February 2022. It holds the distinction of being the world's first FPSO built using SBM Offshore's innovative 'Fast4Ward' standardized hull design, setting new benchmarks for efficiency and construction speed. The Liza Unity has a significantly higher production capacity than its predecessor, capable of processing up to 220,000 barrels of oil per day. The vessel is stationed in the Liza field at a water depth of approximately 1,600 meters and features a storage capacity of two million barrels. Significant focus was placed on sustainability during its design; the Liza Unity was the first vessel of its kind to receive the 'Sustain-1' certification from ABS for its environmental performance and lower emissions. Its commissioning was a vital milestone in scaling up Guyana's daily oil output and solidifying the country's position as a global energy player. The facility's technological sophistication allows for highly efficient separation of gas, water, and oil directly at the offshore location.
