The facility was designed by the German architect Werner March, who is also famous for designing the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. A significant renovation in 2005 modernized the seating and infrastructure, ensuring the stadium remains a central hub for Egyptian sports and national pride.

Visiting
Cairo International Stadium is a large multi-purpose stadium in Nasr City, open for sports events and concerts. Outside events, access to the stands and pitch is usually not possible, only the outer area is freely accessible.
Typical hours
The stadium grounds are open 24/7 for pedestrian access; ticket offices open on match days about two hours before kick-off. On non-match days, the outer area can be visited anytime.

Photography of the stadium exterior is allowed at any time. During a match or concert, professional cameras and flash are usually not permitted, but phone photos are often fine.
Time needed
A visit to the stadium's outer areas takes about 15-20 minutes. If attending a match, plan for the full event duration of around 2-3 hours plus travel time.

Getting there
The stadium is directly reachable by metro (Stadium station); numerous bus lines also serve the stop. Plenty of parking is available, but on match days traffic around the stadium is very heavy.

On match days, arrive at least one hour before kick-off to pass security checks. Foreign spectators should carry their passport as it may be requested at the entrance.
