Bird Park Foz do Iguaçu (Brazil)

Weather…

Bird Park (Parque das Aves) in Foz do Iguaçu is the world's largest conservation center focused on the birds of the Atlantic Forest, located adjacent to the Iguaçu National Park. Founded in 1994 by Dennis and Anna-Maria Croukamp, the private park covers 16 hectares of lush subtropical vegetation. It is home to more than 1,300 birds from over 140 species, with a primary mission of rescuing and rehabilitating animals from illegal trade or poor conditions. A highlight for visitors is the massive walk-through aviaries, which allow for close-up encounters with toucans, macaws, and flamingos without the obstruction of traditional cages. In addition to avian species, the park also protects reptiles like caimans and anacondas, and features a bustling butterfly house. The park's educational and conservation programs work with international organizations to prevent the extinction of rare species. The carefully designed forest trails offer an immersive experience, raising awareness about the critical need to preserve Brazil's unique biomes.
