Ethno Village Stanišići (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

Weather…

Stanišići Ethno Village is a unique tourist complex on the outskirts of Bijeljina, established in 2003. The site was created to preserve and showcase the traditional architecture and lifestyle of the people from central Bosnia and the surrounding mountainous regions. The complex is divided into two parts: a secular section featuring faithfully reconstructed wooden houses, watermills, and a blacksmith shop, and a spiritual section with a stone church dedicated to Saint Nicholas. Many of the buildings were dismantled from their original locations and rebuilt in Stanišići to ensure authenticity. Artificial lakes and canals are connected by stone bridges modeled after the famous bridges in Višegrad and Mostar. Beyond its museum-like character, the village features modern hotels, restaurants serving local cuisine, and conference centers. It is a prime example of cultural heritage revitalization through private tourism, attracting tens of thousands of visitors annually from across the region.
