Chimbuk Hill, often referred to as the 'Himalayas of Bengal,' is one of the most famous and the third-highest peak in Bangladesh. It is located approximately 26 kilometers from Bandarban town and reaches an elevation of about 760 meters above sea level. The road to the summit is considered one of the most scenic routes in the country, winding in serpentines through the dense forests of the Chittagong Hill Tracts. From the hilltop, there is a wide view over the Sangu River valley, and on clear days, visibility extends as far as the Bay of Bengal. Culturally, the region is closely linked to the Mru tribe, who live in traditional stilt houses on the slopes and are known for their unique music and craftsmanship. The hill is a key pillar of regional tourism, hosting facilities for visitors seeking the cool mountain air and natural silence. Geomorphologically, the hill is part of a range formed by tectonic uplifts during the Cenozoic era.
