Els Plans

Els Plans is a small, quiet residential district within the parish of Ordino, distinguished by its elevated position and wide views over the Valira del Nord valley. The name refers to the flatter terraces or plains amidst the otherwise steep mountain flanks, which were historically used for grain cultivation and later as hay meadows. Today, Els Plans is primarily an upscale residential area that blends tradition with modern comfort, with strict adherence to regional architectural styles using stone and wood. The surroundings are characterized by dense forests and small streams, providing high quality of life and privacy. Numerous hiking trails lead from here directly into the Casamanya mountain range or down to the historic center of Ordino. Due to low light pollution, the area is also popular with astronomers who enjoy a clear view of the Pyrenean starry sky.
