Blue Lagoon National Park

Blue Lagoon National Park is located on the northern edge of the Kafue Flats, just 120 kilometers from the capital, Lusaka. Despite its proximity to the city, it remains an often-overlooked sanctuary for nature lovers. The park is a vast wetland that transforms into a shimmering watery landscape during the rainy season. It is world-famous for the Kafue Lechwe, a subspecies of antelope perfectly adapted to swamp life, which can be seen here in massive herds. For birdwatchers, Blue Lagoon is.
