Lady Buddha Da Nang (Vietnam)

Weather…

The Lady Buddha statue in Da Nang is a magnificent landmark and the tallest Buddha statue in Vietnam, standing at 67 meters. Located at the Linh Ung Pagoda on the Son Tra Peninsula, the statue represents Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, the Goddess of Mercy (known as Quan The Am in Vietnamese). The statue rests on a 35-meter diameter lotus-shaped foundation and overlooks the Da Nang Bay and the East Sea. Inside the structure, there are 17 distinct levels, each containing an altar with 21 different Buddha statues of various styles and expressions. The construction of the statue and the surrounding temple complex spanned six years, concluding in 2010. It is strategically positioned to provide spiritual protection for local fishermen against storms and natural disasters, a belief deeply held by the city's inhabitants. The site is not only a major place of worship but also a popular destination for tourists seeking panoramic views of the coastline and the Marble Mountains. The serene atmosphere, combined with intricate traditional architecture and lush gardens, makes it a spiritual sanctuary in Central Vietnam.
