Trà Quế Vegetable Village (Vietnam)

Weather…

Trà Quế Vegetable Village is located approximately three kilometers northeast of Hoi An Ancient Town and covers an agricultural area of about 40 hectares. The settlement has a history dating back over 300 years and is renowned for cultivating more than 40 different types of vegetables and herbs, including mint, basil, and coriander. A distinctive feature of local farming is the use of seaweed from the nearby De Co lagoon as natural fertilizer, which imparts a unique aroma to the produce. Today, around 150 households cultivate the land using traditional methods without chemical pesticides or artificial fertilizers. The fields are arranged in precise, rectangular plots and are manually irrigated using watering cans carried on shoulder poles. Trà Quế has evolved into a significant center for agrotourism, where visitors can learn traditional soil preparation and planting techniques.
