Mộc Châu Plateau (Vietnam)

Weather…

The Moc Chau Plateau is located in Son La province in northwestern Vietnam, at an average altitude of about 1,050 meters. The plateau is known for its temperate climate and fertile soils, composed of volcanic basalt and calcareous deposits. These geological conditions enable intensive agriculture, particularly tea cultivation and dairy farming, which shape the landscape through green hills and pastures. The region is predominantly inhabited by the Thai and H'Mong ethnic groups, whose traditional villages, such as Ban Ang, are embedded in the landscape. Floristically, the plateau is famous for its seasonal blooms, including peach blossoms in winter and orchids in spring. The surrounding limestone belt features numerous karst formations and caves, such as the Doi Cave. The plateau serves as an important link between the Red River Delta and the western mountainous provinces.
