Amir Timur Square

Amir Timur Square in the center of Tashkent is one of the most significant urban hubs and a national symbol of Uzbekistan. In the middle of the square stands the imposing equestrian statue of Amir Timur (Tamerlane), the founder of the Timurid Empire, which was erected in 1993 replacing a monument to Marx.
