Try the slow-cooked pulled pork with a tangy, vinegar-based sauce at a traditional smokehouse.
The NoDa (North Davidson) neighborhood is the prime spot for sampling excellent local brews.
A Southern staple. Try this cheesy, peppery spread on a sandwich at a local deli or cafe.

Charlotte, the largest city in North Carolina, has transformed from a small trading town into one of the most significant financial centers in the United States. Named after the German princess Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, the city was founded in 1768. Its early history was shaped by the nation's first gold rush in 1799, which led to the establishment of a U.S. government mint. After the Civil War, Charlotte became a major center for cotton processing and a railroad hub. However, the city's true ascent began in the late 20th century when it became the headquarters for major banks like Bank of America and Wachovia (now part of Wells Fargo). Today, Charlotte is the second-largest banking center in the U.S. after New York City. Beyond the financial sector, the city is home to numerous Fortune 500 companies and is a hub for the motorsports industry, hosting the NASCAR Hall of Fame and numerous racing teams in the region. The city is experiencing rapid population growth and continuous urban development, reflected in an expanding skyline and new neighborhoods.
