Petrobrazi Refinery (Romania)

Weather…

The Petrobrazi Refinery, located south of Ploiești, is one of the main pillars of Romania's energy economy. Operated by OMV Petrom, this industrial facility processes about 4.5 million tonnes of crude oil every year, making it one of the most modern refineries in Southeast Europe. Its history began in 1934, and over the last decade it has benefited from more than 2 billion euros in investment to modernize technology and reduce environmental impact. The refinery covers a significant share of domestic gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel demand, with its own rail connection and access to the national pipeline network. The Polyfuel unit introduced in 2019 made it possible to convert refinery gases into high-quality fuels, strengthening Petrobrazi's strategic role in regional energy security.
