The Urziceni Local Council approved the technical indicators for the energy renovation of the city's Technological High School. The project, funded by PNRR, aims to significantly improve the energy efficiency of public buildings.
Urziceni is a city in Ialomița County, situated in the Bărăgan Plain of southeastern Romania. It is primarily an agricultural and commercial center, benefiting from its location on a major road and railway junction connecting Bucharest to the eastern part of the country. The city's development has been driven by its role as a marketplace for the fertile agricultural hinterland. While not a major tourist destination, Urziceni gained international attention when its local football team, Unirea Urziceni, had a period of remarkable success, including winning the national league and participating in the UEFA Champions League. The flat, open landscape of the Bărăgan Plain defines the city's surroundings.
