International Mountain Museum (Nepal)

Weather…

The International Mountain Museum in Pokhara is a tribute to the mountains of Nepal and the mountaineers who have conquered their peaks. Opened in 2004, the museum was established by the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) to document and showcase the history, culture, geology, and wildlife of the Himalayan region. The building itself is designed to resemble a mountain range. Inside, visitors will find three main exhibition areas: the Hall of Great Himalayas, the Hall of Fame, and the Hall of World Mountains. The exhibits include a collection of gear used by early Himalayan expeditions, photos and records of famous climbers, and information about the various ethnic groups living in the Nepalese mountain regions. A special section is dedicated to the Yeti legends. The museum serves not only as a tourist attraction but also as an educational and research center.
