Inhambane explorer park (Mozambique)

Weather…

The Inhambane Explorer Park is dedicated to the history and discovery of one of Mozambique's oldest cities. Inhambane, known as 'Terra de Boa Gente' (Land of Good People), was visited by Arab traders as early as the 11th century. In 1498, Vasco da Gama anchored here during his voyage to India. The park features a child-friendly presentation of this maritime history with replicas of historic ships and interactive maps of ancient trade routes. A focus is placed on the city's architecture, such as the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Conception, completed in 1870. Visitors also learn much about local culture and the production of cashew nuts, which are of great importance to Inhambane Province. The city is situated on a wide bay lined with coconut palms, which represents an important ecosystem for flamingos. The discovery center promotes understanding of the cultural exchange between Africa, Arabia, and Europe over the centuries.
