Foxtrot Offshore Gas Platform (Côte d’Ivoire)

Weather…

The Foxtrot gas field is one of Ivory Coast's most important offshore energy sources. Located in Block CI-27 in the Gulf of Guinea, it is operated by Foxtrot International. Since the start of production in the late 1990s, the field has supplied the majority of the natural gas used for power generation in Abidjan's thermal power plants (CIPREL and Azito). With the construction of new platforms like 'Marlin' in 2015, production capacity was significantly increased, sustainably improving the country's energy security. The project is a technical masterpiece of the offshore industry, requiring highly complex maintenance under extreme conditions. Using its own natural gas has made Ivory Coast less dependent on energy imports and laid the foundation for its role as a regional electricity exporter.
