Vaasa Energy Hub (Finland)

Weather…

The Vaasa Energy Hub, widely known as EnergyVaasa, is the largest energy technology cluster in the Nordic countries. More than 160 companies operate within this ecosystem, including global leaders such as Wärtsilä, ABB, and Danfoss. The center focuses on innovations in smart electrical grids, sustainable marine engines, and energy storage systems. Every year, Vaasa hosts 'EnergyWeek', an international conference that attracts experts from all over the globe. The hub is characterized by close cooperation between the industry, the University of Vaasa, and various research institutions. A major milestone is Wärtsilä's Smart Technology Hub, a dedicated research facility for maritime decarbonization. The region contributes significantly to Finnish exports and positions Vaasa as a global center for the green energy transition. Due to its proximity to the Gulf of Bothnia, the hub is also strategically placed for the development of offshore wind power solutions.
