Møllehøj (Denmark)

Weather…

Møllehøj is the highest natural point in Denmark, reaching an elevation of 170.86 meters above sea level. It is situated in the Ejerbjerge hills within the Skanderborg municipality of eastern Jutland. For many years, nearby Yding Skovhøj was thought to be the highest, but in 2005, precise geographical surveys confirmed that Møllehøj’s natural ground level surpassed it once man-made Bronze Age burial mounds were excluded. A windmill once occupied the summit, and its millstone from 1838 remains at the site as a historical marker. The surrounding landscape was formed during the last ice age by glacial movements that deposited significant amounts of moraine. The summit has expansive views over the rolling agricultural plains of central Jutland. Despite its modest height compared to global peaks, it holds great significance in Danish topography and attracts numerous visitors interested in the country's natural landmarks.
