Nissi Beach is one of the most famous sandy beaches in Cyprus, located in the resort town of Ayia Napa. The beach stretches for approximately 500 metres and is distinguished by its fine white sand and extremely shallow, turquoise waters. It takes its name from the small islet of Nissi (Greek for island) situated just offshore, which is accessible on foot via a narrow sandbar during low tide. This geographical feature creates a protected lagoon that is handy for various water sports. The beach has consistently held Blue Flag status since 1995 for its outstanding water quality and environmental management. Despite its immense popularity and the high volume of visitors during the summer months, the water quality remains remarkably stable. The beach is a vital economic hub for the region, attracting hundreds of thousands of international tourists annually.
