Window to the World
The Ventana al Mundo (Window to the World) is a monumental artwork and landmark in Barranquilla, Colombia. Inaugurated in 2018, it is located on a roundabout at the intersection of Vía 40 and Circunvalar in the city's industrial zone. The 47-meter-high structure consists of a steel frame clad in approximately 2,000 square meters of colored laminated glass. The bustling colors represent the diversity and optimism of Barranquilla's residents, as well as the city's history as the 'Golden Gate of Colombia.' Designed by architect Diana Quintana, the monument symbolizes the city's openness to world trade and technological progress. It has quickly become one of the city's most visited attractions and houses a gallery dedicated to city history at its base.
