St. Philip's Parish Church is one of the grandest Anglican churches in Barbados, located in the eastern parish of St. Philip. The present building was completed in 1836 following the destruction of the original church by the devastating Great Hurricane of 1831. Constructed from local limestone, the church features thick, sturdy walls and a spacious interior, making it one of the largest parish churches on the island. The site is noted for its historic graveyard, which serves as the final resting place for several notable Barbadians, including former Prime Ministers. Inside, visitors can admire ornate white marble tablets and a magnificent pipe organ that enhances the church's solemn atmosphere. Surrounded by mature mahogany trees, the church features a peaceful retreat and stands as a testament to the resilience and craftsmanship of the island's inhabitants during the 19th-century reconstruction era.
