Beachport is a peaceful haven on South Australia's impressive Limestone Coast, renowned for its rich maritime history and rugged coastal beauty. The town's main attraction is its historic jetty, which stretches an impressive 772 meters into Rivoli Bay, making it the second longest in the state. The jetty provides fantastic recreational fishing opportunities and panoramic views over the emerald waters. The town features gorgeous sandy shores, including the sheltered Beachport Front Beach, which is great for safe swimming, family picnics, and paddleboarding. Another unique geological wonder here is the Pool of Siloam, a remarkably saline lake with water seven times saltier than the ocean. It is famous for its extreme buoyancy and reputed therapeutic properties. Beachport is also a major hub for South Australia's lucrative rock lobster industry. Local taverns and seafood restaurants offer visitors the chance to taste some of the freshest lobster available in the country. The town is easily reached by car from Adelaide or Mount Gambier along the scenic coastal routes.
