Visiting

The M'zab Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site, can only be visited via guided tours due to security reasons. The courtyards and mosques of the five fortified towns (ksour) are open, but most residential buildings remain private and off-limits.

Visits are typically only possible during daylight hours, best early morning or late afternoon to avoid extreme heat. Exact opening times should be confirmed in advance with the tour operator.
