El Eulma, located in the Sétif Province of eastern Algeria, is one of the country's most dynamic commercial cities and a vital economic hub on the high plateaus. During the French colonial era, the city was known as Saint-Arnaud and primarily served as an agricultural center for grain production. Since independence, El Eulma has undergone a radical transformation and is now famous for its "Dubai" district, a massive commercial market for electronics, household appliances, and imported goods that attracts buyers from across North Africa. Geographically, the city sits at an altitude of approximately 950 meters, resulting in hot summers and often snowy winters. Beyond trade, industry plays an increasing role, particularly in plastic processing and mechanical engineering. El Eulma is also recognized for its sporting tradition, with the local football club Mouloudia El Eulma playing a significant social role. Its strategic location along the East-West Highway has greatly facilitated its rapid population growth and economic expansion over recent decades.
