- Buy your ticket online to save money and skip the queues at the ticket office. The online price is often cheaper.
- The most beautiful way to arrive on the island is by boat from Konstanz or Meersburg. This also lets you avoid the search for parking.
- Visit the Butterfly House either first thing in the morning after it opens or late in the afternoon to avoid the biggest crowds.
- The island is spacious. If you have mobility issues, use the free shuttle bus that runs between the mainland car park and the 'Schwedenschenke' restaurant.
- A special tip: if you visit on your birthday, you get free admission upon presenting your ID.

This tree park in the northwest of the island is often less crowded than the flowerbeds and offers shady paths among impressive, ancient trees.
Take a stroll along the lakeshore. Even on busy days, you can find quieter sections here with benches and views of Lake Constance and the Alps.
Although centrally located, this geometrically designed garden with its fountains and pergolas often has a very quiet and contemplative atmosphere.

Die Insel Mainau ist ein botanisches Paradies im Bodensee und das ganze Jahr über ein Magnet für Naturliebhaber. Das Herzstück der Insel ist das barocke Schloss der Familie Bernadotte, umgeben von einer 45 Hektar großen Parkanlage. Je nach Jahreszeit verwandelt sich Mainau in ein Meer aus Blüten: Millionen von Tulpen im Frühling, hunderte Rosensorten im Juni und eine gigantische Dahlienschau im Spätsommer. Besonders beeindruckend ist das Palmenhaus, das auch bei kühlerem Wetter tropisches Flair bietet. Ein weiteres Highlight ist das zweitgrößte Schmetterlingshaus Deutschlands, in dem Besucher hunderte bunte Arten aus nächster Nähe beobachten können. Für Kinder gibt es das 'Mainau Kinderland' mit Abenteuerspielplätzen und einem Streichelzoo. Die Insel legt großen Wert auf Nachhaltigkeit und Umweltbildung. Die Anreise ist per Schiff von verschiedenen Orten am Bodensee oder über eine Brücke für Fußgänger möglich. Die beste Besuchszeit ist zwischen März und Oktober, um die volle Pracht der wechselnden Blütenphasen zu erleben.
