Rožat je smješten u predivnom zaljevu Rijeke dubrovačke, na samoj obali Omble, jedne od najkraćih rijeka na svijetu. Njegov specifičan položaj pruža jedinstvenu mješavinu slatkovodnog ambijenta i neposredne blizine mora, što je ovaj kraj činilo elitnim ljetovalištem još u doba Dubrovačke Republike.
