Madison Square Garden, often referred to simply as 'The Garden,' is a world-renowned multi-purpose indoor arena in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. The current structure, which sits atop Pennsylvania Station, opened in 1968 and is the fourth arena to bear the historic name. It serves as the home ice for the New York Rangers (NHL) and the home court for the New York Knicks (NBA), while also hosting major concerts and high-profile boxing matches. The building's circular design and unique cable-supported ceiling, which lacks interior pillars, provide unobstructed views for nearly all spectators. The Garden has been the site of legendary events, including the 1971 'Fight of the Century' between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier. Following a comprehensive multi-year renovation completed in 2013, the arena continues to be a premier global venue for entertainment and sports. It is frequently marketed as 'The World's Most Famous Arena' and remains a cornerstone of New York's cultural fabric.
