The Las Vegas Strip is an approximately 4.2-mile stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard in Clark County, Nevada, famous for having one of the highest concentrations of resort hotels and casinos in the world. Although associated with the city of Las Vegas, most of the Strip is actually located in the unincorporated communities of Paradise and Winchester. Its development accelerated in the 1940s with the opening of the Flamingo by Bugsy Siegel, initiating its rise as the global capital of gambling. The architecture of the Strip is characterized by massive themed resorts that replicate world landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and ancient Roman structures.
