Baiyoke Tower II
Baiyoke Tower II is a prominent skyscraper in the Ratchathewi district of Bangkok and held the title of Thailand's tallest building for many years. Completed in 1997, the structure reaches a roof height of 304 meters, with a total height of 309 meters including the antenna spire. The building houses the Baiyoke Sky Hotel, one of the tallest hotels in the world, along with extensive retail space on the lower floors that is closely integrated with the surrounding Pratunam market. Architecturally, the tower is noted for its reinforced concrete structure and distinctive silhouette, which represented state-of-the-art engineering in the 1990s. A key highlight for visitors is the revolving observation deck on the 84th floor, providing an unobstructed 360-degree view of the vast metropolis. Despite the emergence of newer skyscrapers, the tower remains a symbol of Bangkok's economic surge at the end of the 20th century. Its location amidst a bustling commercial district makes it a central landmark for both tourists and residents.
