Mount Pobeda (Russia)

Weather…

Mount Pobeda, situated in remote Yakutia, is the undisputed crown of the Chersky Range and the highest elevation in the entirety of northeastern Russia. Located in one of the most inhospitable environments on Earth, just 140 kilometers south of the Arctic Circle, this mountain is a realm of absolute extremes. The massive granite peak is permanently shrouded in thick glaciers and eternal snow, creating a stark visual contrast against the surrounding barren tundra landscape. The fiercely extreme continental climate subjects the area to unimaginably frigid, months-long winters where temperatures routinely plummet below -50 °C. Because of its tremendous geographical isolation, the complete absence of surrounding infrastructure, and the brutal weather, Mount Pobeda is logistically one of the most difficult mountains in the world to access, seeing only very rare, highly organized expeditions.
