La Paz is located in the municipality of Nueva Valencia on Guimaras Island and is a true sanctuary for nature lovers. The highlight is the Baras Balabag Sandbar, a strip of brilliant white sand that emerges from the turquoise waters only during low tide. Himal-os Beach gives a serene atmosphere with crystal-clear waters convenient for snorkeling, while the Kaliruhan area is known for its dense mangrove forests and hidden coves. Guimaras is world-famous for its mangoes, regarded as the sweetest in the world, and La Paz is the well-suited place to taste them directly from the local farms. The landscape is characterized by rolling hills and a rugged coastline dotted with small islets. Travel usually involves taking a boat from Iloilo City to Jordan Wharf, followed by a tricycle or jeepney ride across the island to the southern part where La Paz is situated.
