The Manila American Cemetery and Memorial in Taguig City is the largest overseas military cemetery for American and Filipino soldiers of World War II. Spanning 152 acres (62 hectares), it is the final resting place for over 17,000 fallen service members who lost their lives during operations in the Pacific. The site is known for its symmetrical layout of white marble headstones, which sweep in gentle arcs across the green landscape. At its center is a circular memorial with a chapel and massive mosaic maps documenting the strategic operations in the Pacific. The 'Tablets of the Missing' are engraved with the names of over 36,000 personnel whose remains were never recovered. The cemetery is a place of serene reverence and a lasting testament to the shared sacrifice of nations for freedom.
