Pakistan Monument (Pakistan)

Weather…

The Pakistan Monument is a national monument located in Islamabad, designed to symbolize the unity and historical journey of the Pakistani people. Its striking architecture is shaped like a blooming flower, with four large petals representing the four main provinces: Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Three smaller petals stand for the territories of Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and the tribal areas. Built between 2004 and 2007 on the Shakarparian Hills, the monument features a commanding view of the capital city. The inner walls of the petals are adorned with intricate granite bas-reliefs depicting major milestones in the nation's history and cultural landmarks like the Lahore Fort. A central star and crescent at the base complete the symbolism of the national flag. The site also features a heritage museum that documents the independence movement and the country's diverse culture through wax figures and historical displays.
