Inaugurated in 2012, the zone spans approximately 345 hectares and is primarily designed for export-oriented manufacturing. The heart of the zone is the massive Stellantis (formerly PSA) vehicle plant, which possesses a production capacity of hundreds of thousands of cars per year. In addition to final assembly, AFZ hosts a dense network of suppliers manufacturing components such as wiring harnesses, glass, tires, and electronic systems. Its geographical location between Rabat and Tanger, combined with direct access to the highway and high-speed rail network, makes the site logistically superior.
