Visiting
The Mombasa Terminus (SGR) is a public station accessible to passengers and visitors, but only the waiting hall and ticket area are open to all. A valid ticket is required to access the platforms; entering the tracks is strictly prohibited.
Typical hours
The station is usually open 24 hours, but ticket counters and waiting areas follow train schedule times. Typically service runs from around 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Photography
Photography is allowed in the public hall and outside the building, but not on platforms without permission. Avoid taking pictures of security personnel or other travelers without consent.
Time needed
Visiting the terminus itself takes about 15-30 minutes if you admire the architecture. Combine it with a ride on the SGR train to extend the experience.
