Manas National Park (India)

Weather…

Manas National Park, located in the state of Assam at the Himalayan foothills, is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. Known for its exceptional biodiversity, it simultaneously serves as a Project Tiger reserve, an elephant reserve, and a biosphere reserve. The park is bisected by the Manas River, which forms the international border between India and Bhutan. Its diverse vegetation ranges from tropical evergreen forests to expansive alluvial grasslands. Manas is globally famous for protecting rare and endemic species that are found nowhere else on Earth, such as the pygmy hog, hispid hare, and the golden langur. It also provides a critical habitat for the Indian rhinoceros and the wild water buffalo. The combination of its spectacular mountain scenery and its role in conserving endangered fauna makes it one of the most ecologically significant areas in Asia.
