💡 Tips
- Presenting a "sevusevu" (a bundle of kava roots) to the village chief upon arrival is mandatory to ask for permission to enter and stay.
- Dress conservatively in the village; both men and women should wear clothing that covers the shoulders and knees (a sulu is well-suited).
- Do not wear hats, sunglasses on your head, or carry bags on your shoulders while walking within the village boundaries.
- Sunday is strictly observed as a day of rest and church-going; avoid planning activities or loud travel on this day.
- The road from Labasa can be rough; hiring a 4WD or using a reliable local transport provider is highly recommended.

Naduri is a historically significant settlement on the northern coast of Vanua Levu, Fiji's second-largest island. The village serves as the traditional seat of the paramount chief of the Macuata province, making it a crucial center for Fijian culture. Visitors can experience the authentic daily life of islanders in an environment free from mass tourism, where customs still operate according to ancient traditions. The settlement is situated along the coastline, offering views toward the Great Sea Reef (Cakaulevu), the third-longest continuous barrier reef system in the world. While not known for resort beaches, its location makes it an excellent launching point for exploring the reef. Diving and fishing enthusiasts will encounter incredibly rich marine biodiversity, and locals take pride in their sustainable practices. An essential part of village life is the kava ceremony, a respectful welcoming ritual for visitors. The gastronomy relies on fresh seafood, taro, and vegetables cooked in coconut milk. Reaching Naduri is best done by car or local bus from Labasa.
