Atahualpa Olympic Stadium
The Atahualpa Olympic Stadium is a multi-purpose arena located in Quito, Ecuador, recognized as one of the country's most historically significant sporting venues. Inaugurated on November 25, 1951, it is situated in the El Batán neighborhood at an altitude of approximately 2,800 meters above sea level. Named after the last Inca Emperor, Atahualpa, the stadium has a capacity of around 35,000 spectators. It serves as the primary home ground for the Ecuadorian national football team and local clubs such as El Nacional and Deportivo Quito. Due to its high altitude, the stadium is internationally famous for being a challenging venue for visiting teams during World Cup qualifiers.
