Adonis Baths (Cyprus)

Weather…

The Adonis Baths Waterfalls are situated near the village of Koili in the Paphos district of Cyprus, serving as a significant geological and mythological landmark. According to Greek mythology, this site was a favorite meeting place for the goddess Aphrodite and her lover Adonis, and it is where many of their children were allegedly born. The site features two levels of natural waterfalls cascading into emerald green pools surrounded by dense vegetation and steep limestone cliffs. Historically, the area served as a natural cooling spot for inhabitants of the rugged Akamas region and was utilized for centuries as a vital water source. Today, the location includes a small museum housed in a 400-year-old traditional water mill, which displays artifacts related to Cypriot rural life and ancient history. The lower pool is approximately 5 meters deep, while the surrounding trails offer views of the Mavrokolympos dam and the expansive valley.
