Beihai
Beihai is a gem on the Gulf of Tonkin, offering a relaxed coastal atmosphere. Its most famous attraction is 'Silver Beach' (Yintan), known for its fine white sand that glitters like silver in the sunlight. The city also serves as the main gateway to the volcanic Weizhou Island and is historically linked to the maritime Silk Road. 'Beihai Old Street' is. This 100-year-old street is lined with European colonial-style buildings showing a unique blend of Western and Eastern influences. Here you can find cozy cafes, souvenir shops, and observe the laid-back lifestyle of the coastal residents. As a coastal city, Beihai is a paradise for seafood lovers. Fresh shrimp, crabs, and various types of fish are prepared right in the harbor restaurants. The city is also famous for its pearl cultivation; 'Hepu pearls' are considered some of the best in China and are a popular souvenir. The best time to visit is from April to November when the weather is good for swimming. Beihai is easily accessible via its own airport and high-speed trains from Nanning or Guangzhou. The city can be explored conveniently by taxi or electric scooters, which are available for rent in many places.
