ALUCAM Aluminium Smelter Edea

The ALUCAM aluminium smelter (Compagnie Camerounaise de l'Aluminium) in Edéa is one of Cameroon's most significant industrial facilities and a pioneer of heavy industry in sub-Saharan Africa. Built in 1957, the plant utilizes the vast hydroelectric power of the Sanaga River to perform the energy-intensive process of aluminium smelting.
