Tungku Beach is a unique coastal section in the Brunei-Muara district, characterized by its artificial breakwaters made of large boulders. These were installed to combat coastal erosion and have created a series of small, sheltered lagoons. The beach is very popular with local anglers, who position themselves on the rocks to cast their lines. Unlike neighboring sandy beaches, Tungku Beach has a rougher, more rugged landscape. It may not be handy for swimming, but it has a dramatic setting, especially at sunset. The area is also known for its strong, consistent sea breeze, making it a refreshing spot on hot days. The campus of Universiti Brunei Darussalam is nearby, and students often use the beach as a place for relaxation.
