Nabih Saleh is a small island in Tubli Bay, Bahrain, connected to the main island by a short causeway. The island is named after a revered Shia scholar, Saleh, who lived and is buried there in the 14th century. His shrine is an important pilgrimage site. Nabih Saleh was once famous for its lush date palm groves and freshwater springs, which created an idyllic landscape. Unfortunately, rising salinity in the groundwater and the environmental degradation of Tubli Bay have severely impacted its agriculture. Despite these challenges, the island retains a quiet and rural atmosphere. It is a place of great spiritual importance for Bahrain's Shia community. Efforts are underway to restore the environment and preserve the island's cultural heritage.
