Nassau Cargo Port (Bahamas)

Weather…

The Nassau Container Port (NCP) at Arawak Cay serves as the primary logistical gateway for the Bahamas' international maritime trade. Officially commissioned in 2012, the terminal centralized cargo operations that were previously handled at the congested docks of downtown Nassau. Operated by APD Limited, the facility spans approximately 22 hectares (56 acres) of reclaimed land. It features modern infrastructure for handling container ships, bulk cargo, and Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro-Ro) freight. As the most vital supply point for New Providence, the port facilitates the import of food, construction materials, and consumer goods for both the local population and the massive tourism industry. The relocation of industrial cargo traffic away from Bay Street enabled the revitalization of the historic city center while drastically improving the archipelago's logistical throughput.
