The Sankt Pölten-Land district is a central administrative region in Lower Austria that completely surrounds the statutory city of Sankt Pölten. Geographically, the region is exceptionally diverse, encompassing parts of both the Mostviertel and the Industrieviertel. To the north, the area is bordered by the Tullnerfeld and the Danube, while the southern reaches rise into the Alpine foothills. Historically, the district is defined by significant religious buildings such as the Herzogenburg Augustinian Abbey, which stands as a masterpiece of Baroque architecture. The economic structure is characterized by a strong service sector on the outskirts of the state capital, as well as productive agriculture in the surrounding countryside. Notably, viticulture in the Traisental region has a long tradition and enjoys international recognition. In terms of transportation, the district is excellently developed via the Westbahn railway and the Westautobahn (A1), making it an attractive residential location for commuters.
