Today, the region is famous for the Pambula River estuary and its excellent oyster farms, which attract visitors from all over the country. The absolute highlight of the area are the beaches. Pambula Beach is a paradise for surfers and kangaroos, which often graze on the shore. Severs Beach and Jiguma Beach offer secluded coves for nature lovers. To the north stretches the lively Merimbula Beach, while Shelly Beach and Barmouth Beach (as well as Barmouth North Beach) provide well-suited conditions for swimming, fishing, and extensive coastal hikes. A walk through the Ben Boyd National Park completes the experience. Pambula is easily accessible via the Princes Highway, about 6 hours south of Sydney, or by flights to the nearby Merimbula Airport.
